Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 200 ranked international law firm seeking a 3rd to 7th year General Litigation Associate to join its Los Angeles office on an in office basis.
This is a litigation focused position centered on sophisticated commercial disputes on the defense side. The role is suited to an associate who can take ownership of substantive workstreams, exercise sound judgment, and produce polished written work in a demanding client service environment.
The firm offers a large firm platform with an international footprint, a collaborative culture, and access to complex client matters. Attorneys work closely with partners and broader case teams while developing strong litigation judgment across industries, forums, and dispute types.
The Opportunity
You will support active commercial litigation matters from early case assessment through discovery, motion practice, hearing preparation, and trial preparation. The work may include drafting pleadings and briefs, managing discovery, preparing deposition materials, coordinating with clients and internal teams, and contributing to overall case strategy.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The firm is seeking a 3rd to 7th year General Litigation Associate with:
- 3 to 7 years of commercial litigation experience, with a clear interest in defense side work
- Strong litigation fundamentals including discovery strategy, deposition preparation, and motion practice
- Excellent legal writing, analytical skills, and professional communication with teams and clients
- Admission to the California Bar and active good standing
- Strong academic credentials, including a top 50 law school background

Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this role is 225,000 to 435,000, depending on class year, experience and other relevant factors.
