Cana Consulting is currently seeking a seasoned legal professional to join as General Counsel for a leading renewable energy company. This strategic leadership role will involve overseeing all legal and compliance matters across the organization, with a significant focus on driving and supporting M&A activities, corporate governance, and business expansion initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic legal counsel to the executive team and board of directors.
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing legal team to support the company’s growth and objectives.
Drive a culture of legal and compliance excellence, embedding best practices across the organization.
Lead and manage all legal aspects of M&A transactions, including due diligence, structuring, negotiation, and post-merger integration.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to assess and mitigate risks, ensuring transactions align with the company’s strategic goals.
Oversee corporate governance and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements in Indonesia and other jurisdictions as needed.
Manage relationships with external counsels and regulatory authorities to address complex legal matters.
Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of key contracts, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives and legal standards.
Serve as a trusted advisor in negotiating joint ventures, partnerships, and other business agreements.
Qualifications & Requirements
Law degree and admission to practice law in a recognized jurisdiction.
Minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience, with a strong track record in M&A and corporate governance.
Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, preferably within the renewable energy, infrastructure, or related industries.
Exceptional negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to navigate complex legal and regulatory environments in Indonesia and globally.
