Description
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated General Counsel and Company Secretary who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Bangalore, India.
Accountabilities:
Taking conduct of significant Indian- and APAC-based legal matters
Supervising a team of 2 other Indian-based lawyers
Interfacing with senior management of Indian Hitachi Rail entity as well as other senior members of the legal team located outside of India
Performing responsibilities of Company Secretary
Interpreting, negotiating and closing out complex deals for the Rail Sector Business Unit in India and Asia Pac
Interpreting and guiding senior management in relation to regulatory and legislative requirements
Taking conduct of significant arbitrations and litigations
Interacting with the compliance function
Post qualification experience of 15-20 years
Preferably with experience at an international industrial conglomerate
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Significant commercial experience (15+ years) working in complex, multi-discipline Companies
Law Degree from a reputable University
Demonstrated ability to work with multiple key stakeholders displaying highly polished interpersonal and communication skills.
Agile mindset, able to take prompt decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work and lead in a multicultural environment.
Ability to guide & influence key stakeholders
