About the Firm:
A well-established litigation firm with a strong professional liability practice is seeking a Professional Liability Associate Attorney to join its growing team. The firm handles sophisticated litigation matters and represents attorneys, law firms, judges, and other professionals in complex professional liability and related disputes.
The team is comprised of experienced litigators with a substantial professional liability caseload, providing attorneys with the opportunity to work on meaningful matters and develop their litigation skills within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Position Overview:
The Professional Liability Associate Attorney will handle sophisticated defense litigation matters involving professional liability, legal malpractice, professional negligence, and related disputes. The role offers meaningful case responsibility, strong exposure to legal writing and motion practice, and opportunities to develop long-term within the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Defend attorneys, law firms, judges, and other professionals in professional liability and legal malpractice matters.
- Manage and assist with complex litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Draft and argue motions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies.
- Handle sophisticated motion practice, including Anti-SLAPP motions where applicable.
- Take meaningful ownership of cases and collaborate with experienced attorneys on litigation strategy.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active Bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and in good standing.
- 6+ years of defense-side litigation experience.
- Experience in professional liability, legal malpractice defense, law firm/attorney defense, professional negligence, or related professional-focused litigation preferred.
- Strong legal writing, briefing, and motion practice skills.
- Anti-SLAPP experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to independently manage sophisticated litigation matters.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $200,000–$300,000. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
