For a customer in the real estate domain, we are searching for a freelance Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal support across a diverse portfolio of real estate development, acquisition, leasing, and asset management activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice on real estate acquisitions, disposals, developments, and investment transactions.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of contracts, including purchase agreements, lease agreements, development agreements, construction contracts, and service agreements.
  • Support due diligence processes for property acquisitions and investment opportunities.
  • Advise on zoning, planning, permitting, environmental, and regulatory matters impacting real estate projects.
  • Manage relationships with external law firms, notaries, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
  • Assist with corporate governance matters and legal compliance across the business.
  • Identify legal risks and develop practical solutions to support business objectives.
  • Support dispute resolution, litigation management, and claims handling where necessary.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the real estate sector.
  • Provide legal guidance to internal stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.

Profile

  • Master's Degree in Law.
  • Qualified lawyer with strong academic credentials.
  • Minimum 4–8 years of relevant legal experience, gained in a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
  • Demonstrated experience in real estate transactions, property law, leasing, and development projects.
  • Strong understanding of commercial contract negotiation and risk management.
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Business-oriented mindset with a pragmatic and solution-driven approach.
  • Knowledge of construction law, environmental law, and planning regulations is a bonus.
  • Experience supporting cross-border real estate transactions.
  • Familiarity with corporate structuring and financing transactions within real estate projects.
