Your New Role:

In the market for a dynamic position in the legal field with plenty of variety? As a Float Legal Practice Assistant at this prestigious law firm, you will have the opportunity to support attorneys and teams across multiple practice groups, while covering for teammates’ extended PTO, absences, sabbaticals, and overflow projects.

You’ll get to work with most all of the attorneys and their teams as needed in civil litigation and transactional practices. Your day-to-day will include drafting, formatting, proofreading, and editing correspondence, pleadings, filings, reports, and other legal documents. You’ll coordinate legal work through communications and can tap the firm’s support services team to ensure the prompt and accurate production and delivery of documents.

Depending on the practice area, you may be asked to manage calendaring and deadlines, maintain docketing systems, conduct internet research, and coordinate filings with state and federal courts and governmental agencies. You’ll also assist with attorney scheduling, travel arrangements, timekeeping and billing support, and the coordination of internal and external meetings, conferences, and events.

Due to the nature of this position, you will need excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and an inherent proactivity as you balance competing priorities and switch between practice groups. Our ideal candidate is adaptable, organized, service-oriented, and comfortable supporting multiple attorneys while meeting critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

This is a fully in-office role at our client’s beautiful Portland office.
