is growing! They are looking for a Junior Financial Services Law Clerk to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience but all levels of experience will be considered.
Duties
and responsibilities will include:
Order, review and report on due diligence searches, including (Personal Property Security Act (“PPSA”), Uniform Commercial Code (“UCC”), and other corporate, lien and related searches. Under the supervision of a lawyer, assist with drafting closing agendas, officer’s certificates, resolutions, PPSA/UCC search summary letters, reporting letters, notices of assignment of tax credits and PPSA estoppels. Liaise with law clerks, lawyers, clients, extra-provincial agents, local counsel, third party service providers and governmental agencies, as required.
Liaise with borrower’s counsel regarding closing documentation Prepare and register PPSA liens in the appropriate jurisdictions Complete transaction record books. Update and maintain client forms and precedents. Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications A minimum of 3 years of experience gained as a Financial Services/Banking Law Clerk. Excellent verbal and written
communication skills
. Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.
Excellent team player with the ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision where required. Successful completion of a post-secondary Law Clerk program and Membership in good standing with the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite of Applications, Corp Link, eCore, PPSA Canada, Adobe Acrobat, Docu Sign.
