Job Description
Boutique North Carolina Family Law Firm is seeking a highly-skilled, motivated Associate Attorney with 1+ year of experience in NC family law to join its team! (This is an IN OFFICE position – it is NOT remote).
We will consider candidates from any other CIVIL LITIGATION practice area as long as you want to learn and practice FAMILY LAW – and – you have at least one (1) year of NC Civil Litigation experience.
IDEAL CANDIDATE would have 2+ years experience with all phases of NORTH CAROLINA FAMILY LAW cases from intake through settlement/trial. Need to be able to manage your own caseload of family law files from intake to trial prep/mediation, including pleadings, motions, court appearances, legal research and writing, providing clients with sound legal advice on the issues they’re presenting to us, issuing/answering written discovery, brief writing, managing your calendar properly, taking and defending depositions, mediation and trial prep.
You will receive assistance from our firm’s Paralegals and Legal Assistants on your files. SHOULD HAVE EXPERIENCE IN WITH SOME OF THESE AREAS IN FAMILY LAW:
Divorce, Collaborative Divorce, Alimony, Child Custody and Time sharing, Child Support/Custody, Family Law Mediation, Marital Asset Division, Post Dissolution Modifications, Paternity, Prenuptial Agreements.
JOB DUTIES:
Perform legal research, draft legal documents, perform discovery, attend trials and hearings.
Create and implement policies and procedures within assigned practice group.
Monitor the status of cases to assure deadlines are met and work is complete in a timely manner.
Implement and use processes and technology that enhance the productivity of the legal team.
MUST be currently licensed to practice law in NORTH CAROLINA.
SALARY: $80,000 to $140,000 (Depending on your experience)
