Duties
- Represent clients in family law cases, including divorce proceedings, child custody disputes, and support
- Draft and review legal documents such as petitions, agreements, motions, and court pleadings with precision and clarity
- Conduct legal research using tools like Westlaw and LexisNexis to support case strategies
- Prepare for trial by organizing evidence, developing case theories, and participating in court depositions
- Negotiate settlements that align with clients’ best interests while maintaining professional integrity
- Communicate effectively with clients to keep them informed of case developments and legal options
- Stay current on changes in family law statutes, procedural law, and related legal trends to provide accurate advice
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of family law procedures, statutory regulations, and litigation practices
- Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms
- Proven ability to draft clear legal documents including contracts, motions, and pleadings
- Excellent negotiation skills to facilitate favorable settlements for clients
- Experience in court depositions, trial preparation, and courtroom advocacy
- Familiarity with related areas such as estate planning, employment law, personal injury law, and general litigation enhances versatility
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and courtroom presentations
- Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently using effective case management tools
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice standards and professional development in the legal field
Pay: From $100.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
