Position: 2026 Fall – GRM, Corporate Investigation Services Intern (8 Months)
Overview
As Investigator, Corporate Investigation Services (CIS), you will report directly to the Manager, Investigative Support. The position requires incorporating financial‑crime investigative procedures within a financial institution, processing large amounts of information, and communicating findings clearly and concisely. Self‑discipline, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work under volume and time pressure are essential. You must make sound decisions within tight timelines.
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned investigation files, ensuring completion with accuracy and timeliness, focusing on electronic case management.
- Fulfill end‑to‑end investigation files, including gathering and reviewing documents, performing analytics on account transactions, with a focus on asset recovery, loss prevention, and intelligence gathering in credit fraud, deposit fraud, fraud against clients, and internal investigations.
- Develop financial models in Excel to support complex investigations.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of all processes, forms, and templates used in a CIS investigation (e.g., CIS Major Investigation Plan, Internal Investigation Reports, prosecution briefs for law enforcement).
- Build and maintain a network of internal partners, external industry peers, and law enforcement to reduce criminal activity against RBC.
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with relationship‑building acumen.
- Excellent prioritization, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills.
- Analytical mindset.
- Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Investigative and analytical experience.
- Tracing experience.
- Fluency in multiple languages (asset).
