Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant with 2 to 4 years of experience to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who have some legal experience and are looking to further develop their skills in personal injury law while supporting attorneys and paralegals with case management and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys and paralegals in managing personal injury cases from intake to settlement or litigation.
Organize and maintain client files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and accessible.
Draft and proofread legal correspondence, pleadings, and other documents.
Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance companies, and court personnel as needed.
Request and follow up on medical records, bills, and other case-related documents.
Schedule appointments, depositions, mediations, and court hearings.
Prepare case files for hearings, trials, and depositions.
Perform general administrative tasks, including data entry, scanning, and mailing legal documents.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards.
Qualifications:
2 to 4 years of experience in a law firm or legal setting (personal injury experience preferred).
Bachelor’s degree or completion of a paralegal studies program preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software (preferred).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
A proactive and professional attitude with strong attention to detail.
