About Us
We are seeking an Experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our team. We’re a Monday through Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm office and believe in a work life balance. No billable requirements and there are no requirements to have work email on your phone.
Our paralegals are responsible for communicating with clients, managing attorneys’ litigation calendars, drafting documents, prepares motions for filing, updates clients, maintains proper workflow, and who work well in a team environment. The ability to understand Local Rules and how they apply to family law cases is extremely important, as is the ability to solve problems and communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with clients and team members.
Responsibilities Included But Not Limited To
Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, and discovery requests.
File motions and pleadings consistent with applicable judicial procedures.
Research and analyze statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provide written analysis to attorneys.
Interview clients and witnesses and prepare summary statements.
Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.
Assisting attorneys in preparing for hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials.
Communicating directly with opposing counsel and/or clients.
Reviewing calendar for deadlines and preparing for deadlines.
Answering phone lines and routing callers to the appropriate team member, as needed.
Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of NC Family Law Paralegal Experience
NC Notary a huge plus
Strong knowledge of legal terminology specific to the practice group
Self-motivated and organized while working through multiple projects and prioritizing tasks assigned
Time management skills to work independently and meet deadlines in an atmosphere of frequent interruptions
Research skills when looking into case law and evidence
Ability to work under pressure and within strict deadlines
