Overview
The Global Markets Legal & Compliance Executive/ Senior Executive provides regulatory compliance advice and support to the Global Markets Division, and is responsible for implementing the Bank’s Compliance framework and driving Global Markets’ compliance. The Global Markets Compliance team is the Division’s point of contact on all compliance matters in relation to Global Markets, in consultation with Group Compliance. This role reports to the Head of Legal & Compliance.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Functional (job responsibilities)
Provide legal and regulatory compliance (including AML/CFT) advice/support to Global Markets.
Keep abreast of new/changes to laws and regulations. Drive the implementation of new regulatory requirements (Horizon Scanning).
Review and ensure completion of compliance self-assessments, impact assessment and analysis performed on new/revised regulations by Global Markets.
Carry out investigations for relevant regulatory breaches and coordinate discussions to assist Global Markets with the preparation of all pre-requisite documents for any escalation of breaches or non-compliance incidents. Manage breach reporting process and track completion of rectification actions.
Ensure timely reporting and escalation of Compliance issues or incidences to management and Group Compliance.
Jobholder Requirement
Malaysian citizen
Education/Qualification
Possess a Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in Law/ Accounting/ Economics/ Finance/ Banking.
Experience
2 years and above working experience in banking and financial institution/accounting firm/law firm/consulting in financial services industry.
Good understanding of legislative aspects/regulatory requirements of banking and financial institutions and financial markets/treasury regulations is a plus.
Good written and verbal communication, and presentation skills.
Possesses analytical and critical thinking. Attentive to details and possesses investigative nature.
