Risk and Reputation Office
- Assist with monitoring and screening of potential reputation risk‑events, e.g., adverse media mentions, stakeholder complaints, third‑party risk alerts, or emerging issues.
- Support regular risk assessments of processes, vendor/third‑party relationships, or events that may impact the firm’s reputation or brand.
- Maintain and update databases, logs and tools relevant to compliance tracking.
- Assist in preparing reports, dashboards or summaries for management highlighting key risk‑themes, trends or emerging issues.
- Support the implementation of policies, procedures and training relating to reputation and risk management.
- Engage with internal stakeholders (business units, compliance, audit, communications) to gather information or facilitate investigations where required.
- Support responses to internal or external queries relating to legal and risk matters
- Other duties as assigned by the Team.
Legal
- Assist in drafting, reviewing and amending contracts, letters, legal notices and other documentation.
- Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations and compliance requirements applicable to the business (local and international as required).
- Support the development and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and aligned with regulatory changes.
- Monitor regulatory developments, advise the team on implications and help implement any required changes.
- Work with internal stakeholders (business units, risk, audit) to identify compliance issues, assist in investigations or fact-gathering and coordinate remedial actions.
- Support the Legal / Compliance Manager in managing legal risk, incident reporting and ensuring documentation is properly filed and archived.
- Assist with training materials and communications on compliance awareness for the business.
- Maintain good relationships with external legal counsels and advisors, as directed, and coordinate third-party engagements as required.
- Any other duties and projects as assigned by the Team.
Qualifications & Skills
- Law degree (LLB or equivalent).
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a legal and compliance role, fresh graduates may be considered.
- Excellent command of written and verbal English and French
- Strong analytical, research and writing skills; ability to interpret regulatory requirements and draft clear legal documents.
- Good organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity, ethical awareness and professional judgement.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; comfortable learning new systems/tools.
Preferred / Desirable
- Exposure to regulatory frameworks relevant to Mauritius.
- Good exposure to risk, legal and compliance framework
