The Executive Operations Manager serves as the operational hub for the Executive Office, enabling the COO to lead with focus, efficiency, and impact while also supporting the CEO. This role drives follow-through across the organization, manages communications, and prepares leadership for key engagements. Additionally, this role plans and coordinates projects by organizing people, timelines, and resources while ensuring high-quality outcomes and effective communication with stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Executive Support & Coordination

· Drive follow-through by proactively identifying outstanding decisions, overdue action items, and dependencies, ensuring projects are completed on time and executive priorities continue moving forward.

· Prepare the CEO and COO for meetings and engagements by developing agendas, briefing materials, stakeholder profiles, and key talking points.

· Anticipate executive needs, manage competing priorities, and ensure leaders are equipped with the information needed to make informed decisions.

· Serve as the primary point of coordination for executive scheduling, communications, and logistical support

Project Management

· Manage initiatives and projects by coordinating stakeholders, monitoring progress, and ensuring deliverables remain on track.

· Coordinate information flow between leadership and cross-functional teams.

· Develop and maintain systems, trackers, and reporting tools that improve visibility, accountability, and operational efficiency.

Information Management

· Capture meeting decisions, action items, and next steps while tracking progress and driving timely follow-through across the organization.

· Plan and facilitate executive meetings, including agenda development, pre-read distribution, presenter coordination, meeting notes, and meeting logistics.

· Distill complex presentations, reports, and memos into concise executive summaries highlighting key themes, decisions, risks, and recommended actions.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

· 2–5 years of experience supporting senior leaders, coordinating executive operations, project management, or a related role in a fast-paced environment.

· Demonstrated project management skills with a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

· Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, shifting deadlines, and competing demands with accuracy and professionalism.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence others, synthesize complex information into concise, executive-ready summaries, and briefing materials.

· Proven ability to plan, facilitate, and document meetings, ensuring clear decisions, action items, and follow-through.

· High degree of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when handling confidential information and interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, virtual meeting platforms, and project management or collaboration tools.

· Ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and exercise sound judgment in a dynamic environment.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

The Council for Economic Education offers a benefits package, including medical insurance, HSA and FSA, 401K with match, life/disability insurance, and generous vacation.

This is a remote position with preference for candidates in the Eastern and Central time zones. All staff gather 2-3 times annually for all hands activities, typically around major events, such as the annual gala. CEE offices are in NYC.
