Estate Planning & Probate Attorney

Grow Our Estate Planning & Probate Practice — Alongside the Founder

Location: Melrose, MA (primarily in-office, with flexibility) Type: Full-time Reports to: John Martino, Founder & Managing Attorney

The Opportunity

Martino Law Group is a fast-growing, client-centered Massachusetts firm on a clear path: to become the law firm families and businesses trust most when everything is on the line. We are hiring an Estate Planning & Probate Attorney to build our estate planning and probate practice.

This is a role for an attorney with a business owner’s mentality. You will manage client relationships, lead your matters, help shape how the practice scales, and manage the team around you. If you want autonomy, real growth, and a firm that measures success by outcomes rather than hours logged, let’s talk.

Who You Are

You care as much about how the work is done as the work itself. You think like an owner, treat every matter as a problem to solve, and hold yourself to a standard higher than “good enough.” You’re energized by growth and comfortable with change, technology, and continuous learning.

  • A capable estate planning & probate attorney: confident drafting and managing wills, trusts, and estate plans (Level I and Level II) and guiding families through probate and estate administration with clarity and compassion.
  • WealthCounsel proficient: you know your way around WealthCounsel / Wealth Docx (or can get up to speed quickly). Familiarity with trust funding and MUPC probate practice is a strong plus.
  • AI-forward: you’re comfortable using AI and modern legal technology to work faster and better. We run on Clio, Lawmatics, Decision Vault, and AI-driven systems, and we’re always improving them.
  • A business builder: you bring an entrepreneurial mindset. Existing referral relationships or a partial book of business are a plus, not a requirement — mindset matters more than years.
  • A confident presenter: you can host and speak at seminars and workshops (think Wine & Wills, community talks, and educational webinars) that build the practice and serve our community.
  • A team leader: you’ll manage and develop a paralegal and a Client Success Coordinator, setting clear expectations and following through.
  • Always learning: you’re coachable, curious, and committed to getting better every quarter.

Requirements

  • Licensed and in good standing in Massachusetts (an additional NH license is a plus)
  • Experience in estate planning and/or probate; open to a range of experience levels for the right candidate
  • Proficiency with WealthCounsel / Wealth Docx highly preferred
  • Comfort with Clio, Lawmatics, or similar practice-management and CRM tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — you inspire trust and set clear expectations
  • Comfortable in a client-facing role and eager to build long-term “lawyer for life” relationships

What You Get

  • Competitive base salary plus performance bonuses and profit-sharing: our incentive plans directly align your success with the team’s and the firm’s.
  • Real room to grow: a defined path to advancement and leadership as we scale toward our 2028 vision of a $10M, four-office firm.
  • Support already in place: a paralegal and Client Success Coordinator on your team, plus firm-wide systems, marketing, and a strong pipeline of leads and referrals.
  • Cross-practice synergy: estate planning integrated with family law, business law, real estate, and probate, so clients benefit from the whole firm.
  • A culture worth joining: disciplined, collaborative, and values-driven. We invest in our people through mentorship, team experiences, and leadership development.

How We Operate — Our Core Values

These aren’t wall art. They’re our operating standard, and we hire to them:

  • Client First, Always: we understand every client’s goals before we prescribe solutions.
  • Problem-Solving First: every legal challenge is a puzzle to solve, not a problem to avoid.
  • Pursue Excellence, Always: we aim to exceed expectations, not just meet them.
  • Character Above All: integrity is non-negotiable, with clients, courts, and each other.
  • Quality at Every Touchpoint: details matter, from the first call to the closing of the matter.
  • Three-Way Wins: the best outcomes serve our clients, support our team, and strengthen the firm.

We work with a Three-Way Win mindset and value face-to-face collaboration — roughly an 80% in-office model — because mentorship, innovation, and execution happen best in person.
