Environmental Compliance Manager

We are seeking an Environmental Compliance Manager to oversee environmental compliance programs at our manufacturing and R&D facility in Waynesboro, VA. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations while driving sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement across the site.
Responsibilities
- Manage environmental compliance programs for air quality, wastewater, hazardous and solid waste, oil storage, and related regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit required environmental permits, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Serve as the primary liaison with state and federal environmental agencies.
- Investigate environmental incidents, implement corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution.
- Develop and maintain environmental management systems, metrics, and sustainability initiatives.
- Partner with operations to reduce emissions, conserve resources, and minimize waste.
- Provide environmental compliance guidance and training to site personnel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in environmental compliance, including air, wastewater, and waste management in an industrial or consulting environment.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience working with regulatory agencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of environmental compliance experience.
- Virginia Class II Wastewater License (or equivalent).
- Experience supporting environmental sustainability initiatives.
