Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated litigation paralegal / legal assistant with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of litigation principles and procedures, in both state and federal courts, and be experienced in working with multiple practice areas.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain an assigned caseload.
Schedule all case-related events and docket upcoming events and deadlines.
Conduct communications with clients, opposing counsel, and judges.
Manage case files using document management systems to ensure all documents are organized and accessible.
Support guardianship and probate processes by gathering necessary documentation and information.
Conduct background and online research related to facts of the case, case witnesses, statutory requirements, and procedural rules.
Draft non-complex notices, motions, and subpoenas.
Assist attorneys with discovery requests and responses, including compilation of responsive records.
Requesting, reviewing, and processing records / discovery.
Trial preparation, including organization of exhibits and coordination with witnesses.
Requirements
Minimum of 2-4 years of litigation experience.
Proven experience executing billable tasks and entering time accordingly.
Prior experience with guardianship, probate, and trust administration is strongly preferred.
Associate’s degree or paralegal certification is a plus.
