National Sourcing, Inc. (NSI) is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned business providing program and contract management services to various Federal and Department of Defense agencies. National Sourcing, Inc. is currently seeking Casualty Assistance Service Support General Clerk position in Fort Knox, KY. Applicants may be assigned to one of the three areas:

Job Summary:

Case Management:

This position will directly support Casualty Assistance and Mortuary Affairs Office.

· Duties include reviewing casualty reports for completeness and accuracy.

· Review and monitor movement of personal effects.

· Request disposition instructions from the CAO (Casualty Assistance Officer), track movement for remains daily, utilizing MARTS

· Coordinate military funeral honors and eligible Family Members receive funeral travel entitlements

· Utilize Multiple system to monitor and update appropriate information: systems include AFMETS, DCIPS, CAOs, CACs, DFAS, Veterans Affairs (VA), internal section checks, etc

· Verify the payment of death gratuity

· Review and validate posthumous promotions.

· Prepare final cases file for transfer

· Provide pertinent casualty and/or incident information to senior management personnel when requested

· Conduct an initial review of the Soldier’s previous awards. Build the Soldiers awards tree utilizing available documentation to include the Enlisted Record Brief (ERB), 2-1, 2A, DD 214 and/or Department of the Army (DA) photo

· Build the Mortuary Document Tracking screen in DCIPS.

· Assist with early introduction of Survivor Outreach Services (SOS) Coordinator.

· Track Escort Expense

· Family Members’ SGLI and Traumatic SGLI processing

Notifications:

· Identify and coordinate with the Casualty Assistance Center (CAC), provide and implement policy guidance

· Provide information to the Casualty Notification Officer (CNO)

· Verify data and record statistical data utilizing the following systems: Total Officer Personnel Management Information System (TOPMIS), Enlisted Distribution Assignment System (EDAS), Soldier Management System

· Receive, review and upload all reportable casualty reports each duty day into the Defense Casualty Information Processing System (DCIPS)

· Identify the Next of Kin (NOK)

· Retrieve the data from Interactive Personnel Electronic Records Management System (iPERMS) and/or e-MILPO

· Request form SGLV 8286, (Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance Election and Certificate form) and/or SGLV Form 8285, if required.

Contractor shall research and clarify information obtained from NOK.

· If report is for a casualty resulting in injuries or illnesses, as soon as the NOK is identified, the contractor shall follow internal standard operating procedures when contacting NOK.

Funeral Claims

· Examine documents requiring special handling.

· Ensure clerical correctness of invoices and compliance with contract provisions.

· Contact vendors, logisticians, contracting personnel and activity managers on missing source documents

· Coordinate proper payment procedures and authorizations with KOs and accounting personnel,

· Oversee the reconciliation of problem disbursements (e.g., duplicate payments, misrouted payments and unmatched disbursements) and performs research upon request from the customer or upon discovery of processing error using Electronic Document Access (EDA) and DCIPS.

· Provide assistance to CMAOD budget officer with tracking expenses related to supply and service requests and contract payments.

· Maintain financial tracking using from MS Excel, MS Access, DCIPS, and EDA for reports and analysis

· Adhere to Command directed SOP, command policies, and regulations.

Travel and Transportation Claims

· Based off of Primary Next of Kin (PNOK) elections, begin preparation to move NOK to Dover following SOP guidance

· Receive control and General Funds Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) numbers using the DignifiedTransfer of Remains (DTR) and GFEBS logs

· Prepare orders

Requirements:

· High school diploma OR GED.

· Must have customer service experience and sound working knowledge of computers and office automation software.

· Must possess or be able to obtain active secret clearance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
