Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented DOT & FMCSA Safety Compliance Manager to lead our transportation safety initiatives and ensure full adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee compliance programs, manage safety protocols, and coordinate regulatory reporting to promote a safe, compliant, and efficient logistics operation. Your expertise will help safeguard our fleet operations while supporting our commitment to regulatory excellence and risk mitigation across all transportation activities.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety compliance programs aligned with DOT and FMCSA standards, including hours of service, vehicle maintenance, driver qualifications, and safety training.
- Monitor fleet operations to ensure adherence to transportation safety regulations, including Transportation Management and Fleet Management best practices.
- Manage regulatory reporting requirements such as Safety Measurement System (SMS) data submissions, accident reports, and inspection documentation.
- Conduct regular audits of driver logs, vehicle inspections, and safety procedures using Excel data analysis tools and global trade management software.
- Oversee compliance with Customs regulations, export/import management protocols, and customs clearance processes in coordination with customs brokerage teams.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA standards related to workplace safety within logistics and transportation environments.
- Stay current on international trade regulations, FDA regulations affecting supply chain logistics, and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) guidelines to mitigate risk.
Requirements
- Proven experience in regulatory compliance management within logistics or freight transportation sectors.
- Strong understanding of DOT & FMCSA regulations, including transportation safety regulations and fleet management protocols.
- Familiarity with customs brokerage management, customs clearance processes, and international trade regulations.
- Technical proficiency in Excel data analysis, global trade management software, and transportation management systems.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards related to workplace safety in logistics environments.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to prepare detailed compliance documentation and risk assessments.
- Ability to interpret complex regulations such as FDA regulations, OFAC guidelines, and export/import laws effectively.
