Position Summary

Under direction of the Court Administrator, this position will work closely with the Court Administrator and Executive Committee to perform high level administrative and legal tasks to assist the overall Court. In addition, the position will be responsible for all media and general public access requests received by the Court and assist with CLE programming and training for judicial officers.

Position Responsibilities

Research and prepare draft policies and procedures for consideration.
Research and advise on general legal issues facing the Court.
Responsible for weighted case load data collection, reports, and dissemination of information to Administration.
Serve as the contact for all media and coordinate with the Court Administrator and Executive Committee on proper response.
Work on proactive communication strategies to highlight the work of the Court.
Receive and process APRA requests for the Court and properly respond in compliance with the law.
Serve as Project Management for various projects as identified by the Court Administrator and Executive Committee.
Coordinate and track legal representation with the Office of Corporation Counsel and Office of the Attorney General.
Draft and process local rule amendments for the Court.
Administer the in-house CLE program for Judges and Judicial Officers.
Assist with other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

Requires a J.D. and experience with government legal counsel and access to public records laws. The ability to handle multiple projects and requests as well as the ability work under, and meet, strict deadlines, is required. The ability to exercise independent, professional judgment in decision-making is essential. The candidate must have the ability to utilize computer technology at an advanced level. Must be able to work with data and translate that information to others in an understandable format.

Marion County residency is required within six months of date of hire.
