Summary

Under the direction of the General Counsel, the Compliance Manager serves as a pivotal leader in coordinating the organization’s efforts to ensure regulatory compliance while fostering a safe environment for patients, physicians, and staff. This role involves managing risk, quality compliance programs, training, policies, and procedures to align operations with regulatory standards and organizational guidelines. The role combines compliance management expertise to drive process improvements, risk reduction, and organizational excellence.

Essential Functions and Responsibiltiies

Privacy and Compliance Management:

Ensure all seven elements of IBJI’s Compliance Program are integrated organization-wide. Help develop a culture of compliance in the workplace by using the Compliance Program to streamline operational processes, optimize organizational performance, and reduce overall costs.
Act as a collaborative resource to leadership, employees, and medical staff on compliance-related issues.
Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
Oversee vendor relationships critical to compliance, including contract renewals and payments.
Ensure organization adheres to HIPAA for patient data privacy.
Serve as liaison for patient compliance related complaints.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and address compliance risk.
Lead company-wide education and training initiatives to foster compliance awareness.
Prepare and manage dashboards, reports, tracking tools to identify compliance risks, implement corrective actions, enhance procedures.
Communicate updates to stakeholders on compliance program status and activities.
Lead strategic planning to support the organization’s long-term compliance objectives.
Perform other duties as needed to support compliance operations and initiatives.
Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines relevant to Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Office of Inspector General, and the Department of Health and Human Services.
Ensure CMS billing and coding requirements are being met
Serve as a resource for interpreting and applying regulatory requirements to operational processes and policies.
Collaborate with leadership to develop policies and tools to address emerging legal and regulatory issues.
Requirements:

Qualifications and Skills

Experience: 3–5+ years of compliance or regulatory experience preferred.
Education: Bachelor degree required; advanced clinical or juris doctor (JD) desired.
Regulatory Knowledge: Skilled in researching state and federal laws, policies, and regulations.
Project Management: Strong skills in managing projects, improving processes, and independently executing compliance functions.
Vendor Management: Ability to oversee vendors and workflows effectively.
Adaptability: Flexible and able to navigate change while maintaining focus on organizational goals and external requirements.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including governing bodies.
Listening and Learning: Strong listening skills and a commitment to continuous learning.
Analytical Thinking: Strong conceptual and analytical skills to solve complex problems.
Decision-Making: Decisive with sound judgment under pressure.
Collaboration: Comfortable working in a collaborative and shared leadership environment.
Certification: Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) or other relevant certification required or to be obtained within the first year.

Work Arrangement: This role is eligible for a hybrid remote work arrangement following the first 6 months.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
