Legal Secretary/Receptionist position
The Champaign County State’s Attorney’s Office is seeking applicants for a full time Legal Secretary position with primary Receptionist responsibilities. The successful applicant will serve as the initial point of contact for the State’s Attorney’s Office, answering and screening incoming calls, greeting visitors, and performing a variety of administrative and secretarial duties as needed. Prior office experience with secretarial training preferred, with a preference for prior legal, social service or criminal justice experience. High school diploma or GED required, with a preference for candidates with an associates degree or higher or specific courses in secretarial skills, criminal justice or social work. The position requires excellent computer, organizational and communication skills, knowledge of Microsoft Word products, a professional phone manner, and a willingness to learn. This is an AFSCME position Salary range for this position is grade E, minimum salary $17.43/hour, maximum salary $26.13/hour. Benefits are outlined at https://www.co.champaign.il.us/jobs.
