About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Fractional Chief Legal Officer to serve as an on-demand legal executive supporting a growing creative production company involved in large-scale event partnerships, cross-border deals, and internal restructuring.
Embedded within our consulting team, this role combines legal advisory and contract strategy—strengthening the internal legal foundation while ensuring all external agreements align with the company’s vision and risk tolerance.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in business law, contract negotiation, and legal governance, with a focus on dynamic, project-driven industries such as events and creative production.
What You’ll Do
Oversee Legal Governance & Compliance: Audit and design legal policies, including NDAs, HR practices, and contractor terms, ensuring alignment with U.S. and international laws.
Support Contract Negotiation & Risk Mitigation: Draft, review, and negotiate key agreements such as RFPs, event contracts, vendor terms, and MOUs.
Enable Subsidiary & Provider Oversight: Ensure legal consistency across entities, subsidiaries, and international partners.
Standardize Legal Templates & Protocols: Develop reusable legal templates and define approval flows for efficient, scalable operations.
Advise on HR Legal Frameworks: Help structure legally sound employee/contractor classifications and onboarding systems.
Act as On-Demand Legal Support: Be available as needed—independently or alongside existing legal counsel—depending on scope and priority.
Collaborate with Strategy & Operations Teams: Align legal frameworks with business goals, working closely with internal consultants and external partners.
What You Bring
8–15+ years of legal experience, including significant exposure to business law, contracts, and governance in creative or project-based companies
Expertise in drafting and negotiating event, partnership, and vendor contracts, including international deals
Strong knowledge of HR compliance, employee classification, and internal governance design
Experience in consulting or fractional general counsel roles preferred
Comfort advising executive teams and collaborating across departments
Adaptability and proactive legal problem-solving for fast-paced, evolving environments
Bonus: Familiarity with AI-enabled contract review, legal tech platforms, or CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management) tools

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $37.81 – $42.09 per hour
