Job Responsibilities
Takes personal responsibility for developing key internal and external partner relations.
Acts as the primary interface with
senior management
levels in TRA’s relevant teams and relevant du business units, regarding Regulatory issues.
Represents du’s interests before the TRA concerning the above issues, both verbally and in writing, including:
Drafting submissions to the TRA on proposed and/or existing regulatory policies and other regulatory instruments;
Representing du at industry forums established by the TRA regarding these areas;
Drafting written complaints to the TRA regarding allegations of non-compliance by third parties;
Reviewing complaints against du regarding alleged non-compliances and drafting defenses;
Influencing TRA policies to reflect du’s position in ultimate outcomes.
Provides clear, high-quality, proactive and reactive strategic and commercial regulatory advice and support to the business on issues including:
Product and service offerings, and non-price retail/commercial obligations under the TRA’s Regulatory Framework;
Licensing regulation, including interpretation of du’s license obligations and those of other UAE licensees;
Marketing and
communication
practices regulation and disputes by TRA/competition;
Responsible for immediate staff management and related activities.
Drives
employee engagement
within the functional area.
Leads the team by role modeling brand values and implementing good management practices.
Champions Emiratization within the area.
Qualifications Appropriate professional qualification in Law, Technology, Business, Commerce, or related discipline from a recognized institution.
Experience Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in legal or regulatory affairs within telecoms or other regulated industries.
Experience in implementing regulatory decisions within business and developing complex regulatory positions in discussions or submissions to stakeholders, or supporting internal stakeholders.
Skills Understanding of telecommunications and related technologies.
Strong English language
communication skills
, both written and verbal; bilingual capability in English and Arabic is desirable but not essential.
Strong commercial focus, pragmatic, solutions-oriented.
Autonomous work approach with ability to produce quality work independently.
Project management
skills, including effective
teamwork
in cross-functional virtual teams.
