Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Director for Post-Award Projects Contract Management to lead and oversee contract administration, performance management, and commercial governance across a major airport development programme. This client-side leadership role is pivotal in ensuring that all post-award contract obligations are effectively managed, commercial risks are mitigated, and value is protected throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the post-award contract management function across all major projects within the airport programme.
Oversee contract administration, ensuring adherence to terms, timely deliverables, and resolution of disputes or claims.
Ensure change orders, variations, and extensions of time are managed in alignment with contractual entitlements and client interests.
Establish and maintain robust commercial governance frameworks, workflows, and reporting tools.
Provide strategic advice on complex contract issues, risk exposure, and commercial negotiation strategies.
Lead performance monitoring of consultants, contractors, and suppliers against contractual KPIs and obligations.
Coordinate closely with legal, procurement, finance, and project delivery teams to ensure contract alignment with programme goals.
Support claims avoidance and dispute resolution processes, including engagement with external legal or quantum experts where required.
Drive post-award contract closeout processes, final accounts, and audit readiness for all packages.
Develop the client organization’s contract management capabilities, including team leadership, training, and process improvement.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 15–20 years of contract management experience, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role on complex infrastructure or airport projects.
Proven track record managing FIDIC-based and bespoke contracts across large-scale capital programmes.
Experience in post-award lifecycle management including claims, change management, disputes, and performance assurance.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills at executive level.
Strong understanding of contract law, procurement frameworks, and financial controls within a client organization.
Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional environments involving delivery partners, consultants, and contractors.
Advanced knowledge of contract management software, cost systems, and reporting dashboards.
Required / Preferred Certifications:
Required (at least one):
MRICS – Chartered Quantity Surveyor
CIArb – Membership of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators
FIDIC Certified Contract Manager
Preferred / Advantageous:
LLM or legal qualification related to construction law
PMP or equivalent project management certification
NEC4 or RICS Contract Administration certifications
