Position Summary

Tyton Holdings is seeking a Director of Compliance to lead the Human Resources and potentially safety functions across its enterprise. This role sits at the intersection of law, human resources, safety and operations — responsible for compliance, process, investigations and enterprise-wide risk management, all approached from a balanced operational perspective. The ideal candidate is a law school graduate with relevant experience or a senior human resource professional, with strong writing and critical thinking skills, and the ability to lead, train, and supervise HR staff in a fast-moving, multi-state enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the human resources/compliance across the enterprise, setting policy, priorities, and performance standards.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on compliance software systems to ensure maximum utilization of system capabilities.
  • Conduct complete workplace investigations.
  • Track compliance incidents and drive process improvements to prevent recurrence.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise HR staff, building team capability across business units.
  • Manage organizational risk from a balanced operational perspective, weighing compliance requirements against business needs.
  • Advocate for the company with all aspects of insurance.
  • Conduct audits of human resources/compliance programs, policies, and practices to ensure adherence and identify gaps.
  • Recruit, interview, and select new members of the team.
  • Own employee relations matters, including performance issues, disciplinary actions, and separations.
  • Prior exposure/experience managing employee on-boarding, relations and separations in a multi-site or multi-entity organization.
  • Manage relationships with outside vendors supporting human resource/compliance functions.
  • Report regularly to the founders and/or VP of Human Resources regarding compliance posture, open investigations, incident trends, and risk exposure.

Qualifications

  • J.D. (law degree) or MBA
  • Post-graduate experience in employment law, human resources, compliance, or a related field.
  • Above-average written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear investigation reports, policies, and corrective action plans.
  • Strong critical thinking and sound judgment in ambiguous, high-stakes situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Working knowledge of compliance software systems, with the ability to become the internal expert on the platforms.
  • Comfortable working in-person in an multi-entity organization.

Preferred

  • Prior exposure to start-up environments and/or M&A/acquisition integration.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Able to travel as needed out of state.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,000.00 – $160,000.00 per year
