About the Role

Fuchsia Services, Inc. DBA Fushiaa is seeking a visionary and operationally seasoned Director of GRC for Artificial Intelligence to lead the design, implementation, and continuous oversight of our enterprise AI governance framework. This is a high-impact, executive-adjacent leadership role created to address the rapidly evolving landscape of AI risk, regulatory compliance, and responsible AI deployment.

As the AI GRC Director, you will serve as the organization’s authoritative voice on all matters related to AI risk management, algorithmic accountability, data ethics, and regulatory adherence across the full AI lifecycle. You will collaborate with senior leadership, engineering, legal, and business stakeholders to embed governance into AI by design — not as an afterthought.

This role is ideal for a senior GRC professional who has transitioned into or grown within the AI/ML space and is ready to build and lead a best-in-class AI governance practice.

Key Responsibilities

AI Governance Framework Leadership

▪       Design, implement, and own the enterprise-wide AI Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) framework aligned with NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, and OECD AI Principles.

▪       Develop and enforce AI policies, standards, procedures, and controls across all AI/ML systems in development and production.

▪       Establish AI model risk management protocols including pre-deployment risk assessments, model validation, and post-deployment monitoring.

▪       Build and maintain an AI system inventory with complete risk classifications, audit trails, and accountability mapping.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

▪       Monitor and interpret emerging federal, state, and international AI regulations and translate them into actionable compliance requirements.

▪       Lead regulatory readiness assessments and audits related to AI systems, including high-risk AI classification under the EU AI Act.

▪       Manage AI-specific risk registers, escalation pathways, and incident response protocols.

▪       Coordinate with legal counsel on AI-related IP, data privacy (GDPR, CCPA), and liability exposure.

Ethics, Bias & Responsible AI

▪       Lead algorithmic bias audits, fairness assessments, and explainability reviews across AI/ML systems.

▪       Champion responsible AI principles including transparency, accountability, human oversight, and non-discrimination.

▪       Establish an AI ethics review board and facilitate cross-functional governance committees.

Stakeholder Engagement & Executive Reporting

▪       Present AI risk posture, governance metrics, and compliance dashboards to C-suite executives and board-level stakeholders.

▪       Partner with engineering, data science, product, legal, and HR teams to embed governance into the AI development lifecycle.

▪       Serve as the primary liaison with external regulators, auditors, and third-party AI risk assessors.

Team Building & Program Maturity

▪       Build and mentor a high-performing AI GRC team; define roles, hiring plans, and capability development roadmaps.

▪       Drive maturity of the AI governance program from foundational to optimized using industry benchmarks and continuous improvement.

▪       Evaluate, procure, and deploy AI governance platforms and tools (e.g., Credo AI, IBM OpenScale, Microsoft Purview).

Required Qualifications

▪       12–15+ years of progressive experience in GRC, risk management, compliance, or information security — with a minimum of 4–5 years specifically focused on AI/ML governance.

▪       Deep expertise in AI governance frameworks: NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, OECD AI Principles, and NIST 800-series.

▪       Demonstrated experience conducting AI model risk assessments, bias audits, and algorithmic impact assessments.

▪       Strong understanding of the full AI/ML lifecycle: data ingestion, model training, validation, deployment, monitoring, and retirement.

▪       Expertise in data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and their intersection with AI systems.

▪       Experience building and leading cross-functional governance programs in matrixed, enterprise environments.

▪       Executive-level communication skills with the ability to present complex risk topics to non-technical audiences.

▪       Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Law, Risk Management, or a related field. Master’s degree strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

▪       Certifications: CISA, CRISC, CISSP, CDPSE, ISO 42001 Lead Auditor, or AIGP (AI Governance Professional — IAPP).

▪       Hands-on experience with AI governance platforms such as Credo AI, Fiddler AI, Arthur AI, or equivalent.

▪       Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker) to understand governance touchpoints.

▪       Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, financial services, insurance, or defense.

▪       Prior experience working with or presenting to a board-level AI ethics or risk committee.

▪       Published thought leadership, conference presentations, or contributions to AI governance standards bodies.
