Direct Hire Litigation Assistant

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Job Type: Full-Time, Hybrid (3 days on site, 2 days remote)

Compensation: $80, annually, DOE.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with all aspects of litigation, including discovery, court filings, calendaring, and trial preparation.
  • Manage and coordinate electronic filings in Federal and California courts.
  • Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents with high accuracy.
  • Maintain case files, track deadlines, and support attorneys with scheduling and docketing.
  • Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and court personnel.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting multiple attorneys in insurance defense or coverage litigation.
  • Extensive knowledge of Federal and California electronic court filing systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to complete tasks efficiently while maintaining high accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Prior experience in insurance defense or coverage litigation preferred.
  • 3+ years of solid civil litigation secretary experience (highly preferred).
  • Strong experience with state/federal e‑filing, calendaring, TOA/TOC.
