The Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the company adheres to all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices. This role involves developing compliance programs, conducting audits internally and of vendors, and working closely with various departments to minimize legal and regulatory risks.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company complies with all relevant insurance regulations, including those set by state and NAIC. Prepare, document, analyze for accuracy response to regulatory agencies.
Policy Development: Develop, update, and implement compliance policies and procedures to align with industry standards and regulatory changes.
Risk Assessment: Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks to protect the company from legal and reputational harm.
Training & Education: Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance requirements, ethical standards, and best practices.
Audits & Investigations: Conduct internal audits and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to policies and regulations. Conduct external audits of MGAs. Investigate potential compliance violations and recommend corrective actions. Review vendor qualifications, insurance, and SOC reports. Document findings of reports and make recommendations regarding vendor oversight.
Reporting: Prepare and submit reports to senior management and regulatory agencies as required. Maintain records of compliance activities and findings.
Collaboration: Work closely with legal, underwriting, claims, finance, and other teams to ensure compliance across all business operations.
Monitoring Regulatory Changes: Stay updated on new laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting the insurance sector and implement necessary adjustments.
Third-Party Compliance: Ensure vendors, partners, and third-party service providers comply with regulatory and contractual obligations.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field (Master’s or JD preferred).
5+ years of compliance experience in the insurance industry.
Strong knowledge of insurance regulations, such as NAIC guidelines, state insurance laws, and federal regulations.
Experience with regulatory filings and working with agencies like state insurance departments and the NAIC.
In depth knowledge of claim auditing, claim lifecycle, including submission, assessment, adjudication and appeals in auto claims.
Knowledge of reinsurance a plus.
Certification such as CCEP, CIA, CISA, or accreditation in risk management or financial compliance are preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
