Job Title: Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant
Job Summary: This position supports attorneys in civil and administrative cases as well as in transactional work.

Our Firm: We are a unique boutique firm specializing in representing post-acute health care providers in many aspects of operations including regulatory compliance, labor, and employment as well as contracts and transactions.
Ideal Candidate: We are seeking an individual with strong people, writing and analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to manage their own workload and meet deadlines.
Job Summary: This position directly supports attorneys in civil and administrative litigation defending client health facilities against state and federal administrative agencies including defense of surveys and citations.
Required Experience and Education: Successful applicants will have 1-3 years of California civil litigation experience–health care work experience of any kind is a plus.
Wages: $20.00-$35.00/hr. Negotiable and commiserate with experience.
Work Hours: Average 20-40 hours per week; flexible scheduling but must have routine availability during business hours to work with supervising attorneys.
Work Location: Work is primarily performed at our offices located in the mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles. Some
remote work might be arranged.
Job Duties: Including, but are not limited to assisting our attorneys by maintaining litigation and other calendaring, meeting court deadlines, drafting documents (including proofreading), efiling pleadings, and preparing correspondence and communicating with clients and opposing counsel, assisting with propounding and organizing discovery responses, general office duties including answering phones and making copies and scanning documents; handling heavy filing, including organizing and maintaining extensive sets of files, both paper and electronic, and other administrative and legal support activities. Must be proficient in Word and Excel—experience with Clio is a plus.
