Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in various family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and adoption cases. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in legal research, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. The Family Law Paralegal will play a crucial role in ensuring that all documentation is accurate and timely filed, contributing to the success of our clients’ cases.
Duties
Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis to support case preparation.
Draft and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and accessible.
Assist attorneys in preparing for court hearings and trials by compiling necessary documentation.
Manage project timelines and deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates on case status.
Collaborate with attorneys to strategize case approaches and develop litigation plans.
Stay informed about changes in family law regulations and best practices.
Requirements
Proven experience as a paralegal or in a similar role within a family law setting is preferred.
Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail in written communication.
Proficient in legal research techniques using Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong writing skills for drafting clear and concise legal documents.
Familiarity with litigation processes and project management principles.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
A commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and ethical standards within the legal profession.
Must be fluent in Spanish
