The role of the ALTO Senior Attorney is a critical component of ALTO’s victim advocate service,

assisting the Operations Lead Counsel, Operations Managers, and Legal Teams in various tasks essential to supporting ALTO’s multiple retail partners.

This is a hands-on, field-based position that will work closely with Law Enforcement agencies and

Prosecutors. The role will collaborate with the ALTO team to create safer stores and communities.

This position requires the exercise of well-developed legal skills and knowledge of criminal law. The Senior Attorney will act independently under the general oversight and direction of the Operations Manager, with dotted line reporting to the Operations Lead Counsel.

Overview of Roles/Responsibilities:

Balances attending criminal court hearings (virtually and in-person). Provides case updates to ALTO Leadership customers/victims. Attends retail client visits and events, to provide Legal updates and to support the renewal of ALTO contracts.
Supports both Operations Lead Counsel, Operations Manager,Attorneys, and CSS(s) in developing presentations to provide client service updates as well as written and verbal communications to multi-level and cross-function clients, law enforcement, and community leaders/affiliates.
Leads communication throughout the process, partners with law enforcement and prosecutors regarding criminal case preparation, filing, and case dispositions, acts as victim’s advocate, conferring with victims, witnesses, law enforcement officers, and prosecutors, as well as advises victims and corporate employers regarding criminal and courtroom procedure and case handling.

Scope of Responsibilities:

Develop new and ongoing training programs for the ALTO Legal Team.
Onboard and train new legal team members in their designated region.
Mentor legal team members in their role with ALTO.
Cover markets when high demand or employee absence requires it.
Focus on market initiatives with Law Enforcement, Prosecutors, and Community Organizations.
While contributing to projects related to the general success of ALTO in the market, the Senior

Attorney will also be responsible for representing individual and corporate victims of crime

as a victim advocate committed in the assigned area.

Oversee accounts of specific retailers as assigned by the market’s Operations Manager.
Participate in scheduled calls with regional retail partner AP and Management teams.
Attends criminal court hearings and reports court activity to victims, and to the ALTO program directors.
Other responsibilities assigned by ALTO’s leadership.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Admitted to practice law in good standing in a state in their assigned region.
Exemplary performance as an ALTO Attorney for a minimum of one year.
Ability to timely prioritize and accomplish objectives.
Ability to work varied work hours to meet client needs, including nights and weekends as needed.
Excellent presentation/communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and document management skills.
Proficiency in using computers, computer databases, and Microsoft Office.
Excellent research and writing skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to travel overnight up to 25% monthly.
