Demand Preparer/Negotiator

We are a growing firm seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Demand Preparer to join our personal injury team. The ideal candidate will work closely with attorneys, negotiators, and clients to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with legal and ethical standards. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential for effectively presenting the client’s case to insurance adjusters or opposing parties.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Review client case files, including medical records, police reports, witness statements, and photographs.
· Assess injuries, treatments, and associated damages to build a compelling case narrative.
· Draft clear, persuasive, and accurate demand letters summarizing the facts of the case.
· Include detailed calculations of medical expenses, lost wages, property damage, pain and suffering, and other compensable damages.
· Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and medical professionals to gather necessary information.
· Negotiate settlement of pre-litigation claims in coordination with Firm attorneys.
· Obtain pertinent information from clients, including treatment status, doctor appointment information, changes in medical care and/or work status, documents and records information, and the like.
· Communicate with clients to confirm case details and address concerns.
· Organize and maintain case files to ensure all documentation is up to date and accessible.
· Prepare supporting documents, such as itemized medical bills and proof of income loss, to include in the demand package.
· Ensure all demand letters comply with applicable legal and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
· Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Background in legal studies, paralegal studies, negotiations or insurance claims highly desirable
· Familiarity with medical terminology and billing is a plus.
· Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
· Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
· Proficiency in legal research and case management software.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Fast-paced office setting with strict guidelines.
· Accuracy and quality of drafted demand letters
· Timeliness in preparing demand packages.
· Support Firm attorneys and staff with various duties for Personal Injury cases to facilitate and expedite service to Firm clients.
· Strong time management skills required
· Must be able to multi-task and handle tasks quickly and tactfully with all levels of Firm personnel and the public
· Excellent organizational skills
· Strong client service skills
Compensation: Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience.
