Job Description:
- Ensure the organization's ongoing compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.
- Develop, maintain, and update the company's data protection policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on the interpretation and application of data protection laws to management and business units.
- Conduct and review privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) to identify and mitigate risks in processing activities.
- Maintain the organization's records of processing activities (RoPA) and data inventory.
- Conduct regular audits and monitoring of data protection practices to ensure compliance with internal policies and legal standards.
- Deliver data protection training and awareness programs across the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, or Information Systems/Cybersecurity. A combination of legal and technical background is strongly preferred.
- Experience Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in data protection, privacy, compliance, or technology law, preferably gained at a company with massive data management.
- Demonstrated experience designing or operating a data protection program (DPIA, records of processing, and data subject rights handling).
- Professional certification is an advantage e.g. CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT (IAPP), or BNSP DPO certification.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing contracts, policies, and data processing arrangements.
- Capacity to work independently.
