We are partnering with a leading multinational organization in the supply chain and logistics sector to appoint a Senior Specialist, APAC Supply Chain Customs Solutions & Compliance. This is a strategic role responsible for driving customs excellence, regulatory compliance, and trade optimization initiatives across the APAC region.
Key Responsibilities
Customs Solutions
- Lead and maintain a global tariff classification database covering countries with manufacturing operations.
- Monitor and analyze domestic and international customs regulations and trade policy developments; assess business impact and implement effective customs solutions.
- Drive optimization of trade processes through ERP systems and digital tools to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Compliance & Governance
- Establish and continuously enhance the internal customs compliance control framework.
- Oversee import and export compliance activities to ensure adherence to regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Lead customs audits, risk assessments, and compliance risk mitigation initiatives across the APAC region.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or above.
- Preferred disciplines: International Trade, Logistics Management, Customs Administration, Law, or related fields.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in APAC supply chain customs operations and import/export compliance.
- Proven hands-on operational experience and regulatory knowledge across multiple APAC markets (e.g., Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, South Korea).
Professional Expertise
- Strong knowledge of tariff classification, customs valuation, rules of origin, and Free Trade Agreement (FTA) utilization.
- Solid understanding of customs clearance procedures in Singapore and ASEAN countries, bonded warehouse management, and Free Trade Zone policies.
- Strong risk management mindset with experience leading or supporting customs audits and internal compliance initiatives.
- Professional certifications such as CCS, CTCS, or Certified Customs Specialist will be an added advantage.
