We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Contract Criminal or Family Lawyer to join our legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide expert legal counsel, manage complex cases, and advocate effectively for clients across criminal and family law matters. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in various legal disciplines, including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, workers’ compensation law, tribal law and regulations, patent law, personal injury law, employment law, and general litigation. Your expertise will help clients navigate sensitive legal issues with confidence and clarity while ensuring compliance with procedural laws and court requirements.
Responsibilities
- Draft and review legal contracts, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents with precision and clarity.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools like LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies.
- Prepare for court depositions, trial proceedings, and hearings by organizing evidence and developing compelling arguments.
- Manage personal injury cases from inception through resolution by coordinating client communication and case documentation.
- Negotiate settlements and legal terms on behalf of clients in criminal or family law disputes to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Assist in trial preparation by developing case strategies, gathering witness statements, and preparing exhibits.
- Maintain meticulous case management records while adhering to all procedural laws and court deadlines.
Experience
- Proven experience in criminal or family law practice with a strong background in litigation and legal advocacy.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex cases involving estate planning, environmental issues, immigration matters, landlord-tenant disputes, securities regulations, or workers’ compensation claims.
- Familiarity with conducting court depositions and managing personal injury or employment law cases effectively.
- Skilled in contract drafting, legal motion preparation, procedural law knowledge, and trial support activities.
- Proficiency with legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case development.
- Experience working within a fast-paced law office environment with excellent client communication skills.
- Knowledge of statutory legal research methods combined with strong writing skills for clear legal drafting.
