Role: Defense Compliance & Contracts Manager

Location: Remote

Western Global are seeking an experienced Compliance & Contracts Manager to join our Defense team on a full-time basis. This is a new role that will form an integral part of our growing Defense team, with a primary focus on contract management and compliance for sales to the US Federal Government and other government agents.

On offer is a varied role where you will play a key role in shaping the future of our Defense contracting and compliance processes. For this role we are looking for someone with at least 5 years prior experience in a similar role and a deep understanding of US Federal Contracting requirements and processes.

The role will have a high degree of autonomy so you must be able to work proactively, building strong working relationships both internally and externally. As part of the role, you will gain high levels of exposure to the leadership team and this role provides a great opportunity to play a pivotal role in a growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract Lifecycle Management:
Reviewing and preparing responses to RFP/RFQs and coordinating input on the same (e.g. technical, legal, sales etc).
Manage the preparation of non-standard quotes to Defense customers.
Proactively administer and manage Defense customer contracts.
Management of order acceptance process for orders with Defense customers.
Coordinate efforts across multiple business functions to ensure contract compliance.
Managing Defense Compliance Framework:
Implementing and managing US Federal Contracting (FAR/DFAR) compliance requirements across the Group.
Assisting with the development of and managing the Defense compliance framework across the Group.
Championing compliance best practices across the Defense team – providing advice and counsel regarding US Federal Contracting policies and regulations.
Running and managing the regular compliance checks and audits required.
Export control – assisting with export control compliance.
Create and enhance compliance processes for managing suppliers feeding into the Defense supply chain.

What will give you the edge:

5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within the federal contracting or defense industries.
Good working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and federal contracting.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage expectations and build relationships and trust.
High level of self-motivation, independence and self-reliance.
Excellent project management and business analysis skills for executing projects, and continuously improving all contract administration processes.
