A law firm seeks an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join its dynamic team. This full-time position provides an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse and supportive team, representing clients in criminal matters, from pre-trial motions to courtroom proceedings. Represent clients in criminal court, engaging with prosecutors and court staff.
Draft and prepare various legal documents on behalf of clients.
Advise clients on the status and strategy of their criminal cases.
Negotiate plea deals and work towards favorable case dismissals.
Lead trial preparations and take charge of trial proceedings.
Ensure full compliance with legal standards and regulations.
Perform administrative tasks to manage and organize the criminal defense practice.
Minimum of 5 years of criminal defense experience.
Familiarity with various offense categories and knowledge of court systems in multiple counties.
Ability to develop effective working relationships with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.
Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred.
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active bar membership in Texas.
Expertise in criminal defense law, including both trial and pre-trial procedures.
Skilled in negotiating plea agreements and other settlements.
Ability to manage a caseload and maintain a strong level of organization.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
