Here at Cobb Law Group we are looking forward a team lead attorney to help our civil law department. We are wanting a person that is highly motivated to be successful and help guide other attorneys, provide strategic direction on cases, typically acting as the primary point of contact for the associate attorneys/staff and making key decisions throughout the litigation process. This person will be expected to build and manage a case load, hit assigned billing hours, maintain the highest professional and ethical standards, and help manage and oversee other attorneys and staff in the department.
Duties include:
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management:
Lead the overall strategy and execution of their assigned legal cases, including managing deadlines, delegating tasks to other attorneys and paralegals, and coordinating with clients.
Legal Analysis:
Conduct thorough legal research, identify key issues, assess legal risks, and develop effective legal arguments.
Client Communication:
Act as primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on case progress, explaining complex legal concepts, and addressing client concerns.
Courtroom Representation:
Present arguments in court hearings/trials, depositions, and mediations, including cross-examination of witnesses.
Team Leadership:
Mentor and supervise junior attorneys, providing guidance and feedback on legal work and case strategy.
Negotiation:
Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing counsel to reach favorable outcomes for clients.
Compliance:
Ensure adherence to all legal and ethical standards, including maintaining accurate case documentation.
Qualifications:
Active membership in the TN state bar
5 + years of active practice in TN courts
Significant experience in General Civil litigation, including business representation and Real Estate matters
Proven leadership skills, including ability to manage teams and delegate tasks effectively
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines
Salary/Benefits:
· Salary is commensurate with experience
