Position Summary:
The Court Advocate position will provide court advocacy services to individuals dealing with the civil or criminal court systems in Dutchess County. Specific responsibilities include; being able to provide information about the court system; discuss various options available to victims at every step of the court process; assist with filing emergency petitions in Family Court, accompany victims to court and provide needed emotional support; safety planning; provide information and referral as appropriate including follow up domestic violence services. Operate an agency vehicle to drive clients to court as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree in a related field preferred, 2 years relevant experience will be considered.
Knowledge of domestic violence services and community providers.
Bilingual Spanish/ English highly preferred.
Must be computer proficient.
Salary: $23-$26 per hour based on experience and qualifications
