The Royal Caribbean Group’s Legal Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Counsel Technology Transactions reporting to the AVP Assistant General Counsel
This position is onsite and based in Miami Florida
This position is based in Miami Florida office and will partner closely with senior executives and stakeholders located across the United States and internationally
Position Summary:
The Counsel Technology Transactions is a key legal advisor responsible for delivering strategic guidance and complex contract support to Royal Caribbean Group’s Technology and Digital functions across all cruise brands This role manages high-priority initiatives and provides counsel on technology-driven commercial transactions intellectual property and regulatory compliance The Counsel Technology Transactions leverages deep expertise and leadership capabilities to influence decision-making implement best practices and oversee technology-related legal processes impacting global operations
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads and negotiates complex commercial transactions and technology agreements including software development SaaS licensing
- and enterprise solution contracts
- and governance frameworks to ensure operational excellence and mitigate legal risks
- and alignment with corporate policies
- to enhance efficiency across global operations
- and post-contract disputes to protect the company’s interests and minimize exposure
- and contractual limitation-of-liability strategies
- and contractual risk management
- Manages multiple high-complexity projects and prioritizes cross-functional delivery timelines in fast-paced environments
- driving business-minded solutions that protect enterprise objectives
Develops and maintains contract templates lifecycle processes
Advises senior stakeholders on strategic contract terms compliance risks evolving regulatory requirements
Implements legal process improvement initiatives including technology adoption (eg contract management systems)
Oversees resolution of pre-litigation issues litigation matters
Provides expert guidance on information security US-based data protection regulations indemnity provisions
Coaches and trains legal and business teams on negotiation best practices governance policies
Serves as a key escalation point for technology-related legal matters
Qualifications Knowledge and Skills:
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited US
- law school; membership in the Florida Bar or qualification for Registered In-House Counsel required
Experience:
Minimum 7+ years of experience providing legal counsel on technology transactions intellectual property
- and digital ecosystems
- Prior exposure in regulated environments and global technology operations strongly preferred
Proven experience negotiating enterprise-level agreements and advising on complex contractual risks
Technical/Functional Skills:
Expertise in technology contracts lifecycle tools (eg Coupa CLM)
- and risk management strategies
- and e-commerce
- multi-jurisdictional agreements
Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks governing data privacy cybersecurity
Advanced negotiation and drafting skills for high-value
Leadership/Behavioral Competencies:
