Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 200 ranked national law firm seeking a 5th to 7th year Corporate Transactions Senior Associate to join its Chicago IL office.
This is an immediate opening for a senior transactional associate who enjoys managing deal workstreams, taking ownership of diligence and drafting, and working closely with deal teams from initial review through signing and closing.
The firm offers a well established national platform with sophisticated corporate client work, a collaborative environment, and regular access to partner led teams. The work includes transactions involving health care and health care adjacent businesses, as well as other regulated industry participants.
The Opportunity
The role focuses on corporate transactions with a meaningful emphasis on mergers and acquisitions. Responsibilities will include managing due diligence, drafting and negotiating definitive agreements and ancillary documents, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and helping drive transactions efficiently to closing.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The firm is seeking a 5th to 7th year Corporate Transactions Senior Associate with:
- 5 to 7 years of substantial transactional experience in a law firm setting
- Demonstrated mergers and acquisitions experience, including drafting and negotiating core deal documents
- Experience supporting corporate transactions involving health care industry participants or other regulated businesses
- Excellent academic credentials from a highly regarded law school
- Active admission to the Illinois and Georgia Bars, or the ability to obtain and maintain both
