An established legal practice in Doha is looking to appoint a Senior Associate to join its Corporate / Advisory team. The role will suit a commercially minded lawyer with strong general corporate and advisory experience, who is comfortable handling matters independently while overseeing and developing junior lawyers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple corporate and advisory matters independently, ensuring work is legally sound and commercially focused.
- Prepare and review client advice, legal documents, contracts, strategies and memoranda.
- Represent clients in meetings and negotiations and maintain effective relationships with key clients.
- Allocate and supervise work across associates, trainees, legal researchers and paralegals, reviewing the quality of legal output.
- Support business development activity through client networking, marketing, articles and speaking engagements, while contributing to the development of junior team members.
Candidate Requirements:
- 6 to 10 years’ experience in a law firm or legal practice, with strong general corporate / advisory experience.
- An accredited Law degree and strong legal knowledge, with the ability to analyse complex matters and identify applicable laws.
- Demonstrable management and leadership experience, including the ability to supervise and develop junior lawyers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual English and Arabic capability is preferred.
- Middle East experience is advantageous but not essential. Experience working within a multinational team is also beneficial, as is pre-contentious experience.
This is a strong opportunity for a Senior Associate looking to develop their practice within an established Doha legal team, with scope to take responsibility for client matters, junior lawyers and business development.
