Associate Attorney – Employment Law

What We Offer:

Competitive salary: $150,000.00 – $175,000.00 per year, or as commensurate with experience

Position Overview:

As an Associate Attorney practicing in Employment Law, you will independently manage a diverse caseload, providing legal counsel on federal and state wage and hour issues, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases. You will handle litigation across state and federal courts, administrative bodies, and arbitral forums.

Key Responsibilities:

Litigation Expertise:
Manage cases involving wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation under New York and New Jersey laws.
Litigate individual, collective, and class action cases from inception to trial.
Independent Case Management:
Conduct thorough legal research and investigations.
Draft complaints, letters, motions, oppositions, settlement agreements, discovery, and other legal documents.
Handle a diverse caseload with minimal supervision.
Court Appearances:
Argue motions and manage discovery conferences.
Negotiate settlements and prepare for trial as needed.
Client Interaction and Preparation:
Conduct client intake and maintain positive client relationships.
Prepare clients for depositions and defend them during proceedings.
Vet potential new cases for viability.
Discovery and Depositions:
Draft and respond to discovery demands and make effective objections.
Take and defend depositions.
Draft and enforce subpoenas.
Professional Growth and Development:
Demonstrate openness and commitment to learning and professional improvement.
Efficiently manage cases using the Smart Advocate case management system.
Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook.

Qualifications:

Admitted to practice law in New York (required).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Employment Law.
Proficiency in federal and state litigation procedures.
Strong research, writing, interviewing, and investigation skills with attention to detail.
Strong client management and negotiation skills.
Admission to practice law in New Jersey (preferred).
Fluency in Spanish (strongly preferred).
Commitment to long-term employment and immediate availability.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 – $175,000.00 per year
