Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced, part-time Docketing Clerk to join our dynamic litigation team. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of docketing experience within small to mid-sized law firm litigation departments. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our litigation docketing process is efficient, accurate, and compliant with all applicable rules and regulations. This position requires a thorough understanding of rules-based calendaring, using platforms like JuraLaw or CompuLaw, and a strong grasp of trigger dates and court deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

Docket Management: Accurately enter and maintain all litigation-related dates and deadlines into the docketing system, ensuring that all necessary parties are notified promptly.
Rules-Based Calendaring: Utilize rules-based calendaring systems (JuraLaw or CompuLaw) to calculate and track all critical deadlines, including filing deadlines, court appearances, and other key dates.
Trigger Date Management: Understand and apply the correct trigger dates based on various legal rules and case types to ensure compliance and avoid any missed deadlines.
Communication: Liaise with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff to confirm accuracy and clarity of docket entries and to resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records and documentation for all docket entries, ensuring that all changes and updates are properly tracked and recorded.
Compliance: Stay updated on court rules and procedures to ensure that all docketing practices are compliant with the latest legal standards.
Training & Support: Provide support and training to other staff members on the use of docketing systems and procedures, as needed.

Required Qualifications:

5-7 years of docketing experience in a litigation environment within small to mid-sized law firms.
Proficiency with rules-based calendaring systems, specifically JuraLaw or CompuLaw.
Strong understanding of trigger dates and their application in docketing.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Environment:

Hybrid or Remote: Depending on experience and location, this role can be hybrid in Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, New York or Remote. Can be based anywhere in the US. Preference is given to candidates located in Los Angeles, Silicon Valley or New York.

Salary

$35 – 50 an hour (DOE)
