Lawyer in good standing with California State Bar wanted for flex-time position with both transactional and litigation responsibilities.
Who we are: a small, AV-rated law firm in Oakland, that represents small businesses in litigation vital to the continued success of our clients. We also advise them on legal issues. We focus on quality, not quantity. We take our work seriously; ourselves, not so much.
We are looking for a flex-time (20-40 hours/week) lawyer with the following attributes:
A. excellent analytical and writing skills;
B. able to work with clients who do not have a lot of experience with the legal system;
C. an ability to cut to the heart of the issue;
D. a desire to fight and prevail over bullies of whatever size;
E. Experience with clients with a diverse array of small business legal problems, from lease negotiations, to employee/independent contractor problems, to fights between business partners – you may be appearing in court in the morning, and negotiating important agreements in the afternoon;
F. an ability to find joy even amongst the drudgery.
This is primarily a work from home position, although it’s always nice for everyone to visit the office every once in a while. The work will be roughly 50% transactional, and 50% litigation. Pay will be hourly if less than full-time, and full-time would be salaried, starting at $100,000/year, based upon experience, plus reimbursement for expenses like phone usage. Health benefits for 30 hours of work (not billed hours) a week or more.
