KR Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting this Corporate (in house) Legal Counsel role for a fast growing international manufacturing group, based at their Luxembourg HQ.
As a Commercial Counsel in the Legal Department of a multinational group of companies, you will support our European and sometimes global operations. Under the supervision of the Senior Commercial Counsel, you will be involved in drafting and coordinating a wide range of commercial agreements for the Group, including procurement, construction, and sales agreements. You will also provide legal guidance on commercial matters to various teams of the Group. This role requires a significant level of autonomy.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements in support of the commercial activities of the Group in Europe (with a particular focus on procurement, construction, sales, and services agreements);
Overall legal support of the business units in respect of commercial activities, risk analysis, and dispute resolution;
Advise on German law;
Advise on commercial risk mitigation strategies; and
Perform other duties consistent with the role.
Skills and Requirements:
Education: Law degree (minimum 4 years of law, preferably with a postgraduate law degree such as Master’s in Law/LLM in commercial/business law) from an accredited law school or high-ranking university. Erstes Staatsexamen and/or Zweites Staatsexamen would be an asset;
Experience: c5 years of legal experience, preferably in a law firm or legal department of an industrial company, with a focus on commercial/contract law;
Legal Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of, and experience working with, EU regulations, and international commercial law. Knowledge of and experience with common law legal systems, in particular English contract law, would be very helpful. Experience negotiating, drafting, and interpreting commercial agreements;
Language skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills both in English. German; French and/or Luxembourgish would be an asset, but are not a requirement;
Personal Qualities: Ability to work autonomously and to take the initiative, strong time-management skills, attention to detail, integrity, discretion, sound business judgment, strong interpersonal and communication skills and a team-oriented attitude to collaborate with cross-functional team members (sales, procurement, finance, marketing);
Other: Proficiency in MS Office.
