The Legal Counsel will provide expert legal advice and support to the organization across a variety of legal, compliance, governance, and regulatory matters. This position is critical in ensuring the company operates within the bounds of applicable laws and regulations.

About the job: Compliance Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide compliance programs to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.Conduct internal audits and compliance reviews to identify risks and areas for improvement.Corporate Governance Provide legal advice and support on corporate governance matters.Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and applicable regulatory requirements.Support the drafting and implementation of company policies and charters.Assist in maintaining company records, including legal registers, meeting minutes, and statutory documentation.Legal Support Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to support the company’s daily operations (e.g., NDAs, service agreements, supplier contracts).Manage legal disputes and litigation in coordination with external counsel, when required.Draft and review securitization documents, including prospectuses, offering memorandums, servicing agreements, and other transaction-related legal documents.Ensure compliance with securitization regulatory frameworks.GDPR & Data Protection Support the DPO, ensuring compliance with data protection laws and best practices.What you bring: Must-have: Bachelor’s degree in Law; Master’s degree or specialized certifications are a plus.Minimum 3 years of experience as a legal counsel or in a similar role, ideally in a corporate environment.Legal Knowledge: Strong knowledge of compliance, corporate governance, and general business law.Proficiency in English is required.Core Competencies: Attention to detail and precision.Strategic thinking with a proactive approach to legal risk management.Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.Nice-to-have: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.Successful together: EOS Portugal, founded in 2022, is a subsidiary of the EOS Group, an international group present in 27 countries and one of the world leaders in the field of acquisition and management of distressed assets.
