Our client is a leading independent commercial law firm in Budapest is seeking an ambitious Corporate M&A Associate with 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience to join its highly regarded corporate practice.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions, advising an impressive client base that includes multinational corporations, private equity investors, entrepreneurs and financial institutions. The successful candidate will join a collaborative, high-performing team with genuine opportunities for career progression and increased client responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings and general corporate matters.
- Managing legal due diligence processes and preparing due diligence reports.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating transaction documentation, including share purchase agreements, shareholders’ agreements and ancillary documents.
- Advising on company law, corporate governance and regulatory matters.
- Coordinating multi-jurisdictional transactions alongside international counsel.
- Supporting business development initiatives and maintaining strong client relationships.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should have:
- 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience in corporate/M&A gained at a reputable commercial law firm.
- Strong technical knowledge of corporate and commercial law.
- Experience advising on M&A transactions from inception through to completion.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and analytical skills.
- The ability to manage matters with an appropriate level of autonomy while working effectively as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent Hungarian and English, both written and spoken.
